Johanna & Samarth

Some weddings bring together two people. Others bring together whole worlds.

Samarth and Johanna’s wedding at Kasteel van Ruisbroek, just outside Brussels, was a beautiful meeting of cultures, countries and the people they love. Samarth is Indian-Belgian, Johanna is Swedish, and their guests had travelled from all over the world to celebrate with them in Belgium.

Their story began in India, where they were both studying on exchange. From there, they travelled the world together before finding their way back to Brussels. It felt fitting to gather everyone there: a city connected to their life together, and a welcoming place for all the different parts of their story to meet.

A celebration shaped by many cultures

There’s something special about a multicultural wedding. People arrive with different languages, traditions and memories, then spend the day sharing the same conversations, laughter and dance floor.

With Belgian, Swedish and Indian guests all in one place, Samarth and Johanna’s celebration had a brilliant mix of energy. It was one of those gatherings where the room feels fuller with every hello: old friends meeting new ones, families coming together and guests finding common ground in the joy of the day.

The best kind of party doesn’t need everyone to know each other already. It just needs a reason to come together. Samarth and Johanna gave their people exactly that.

Kasteel van Ruisbroek, just outside Brussels

Kasteel van Ruisbroek offered a setting for a wedding that felt both elegant and personal. Close to Brussels, it was a natural home for a celebration bringing guests together from different corners of the world.

Throughout the day, I loved photographing the moments that made the wedding theirs: the connections between people, the small exchanges between friends and family, and the joy of seeing everyone in one place. These are the moments that stay with you — not only the big scenes, but the in-between ones that reveal how much a day means.

Johanna’s look and the details

Johanna wore a dress by MatildaFest, bringing her own style to the celebration. Her rings were by Cornelia Webb Jewellery — thoughtful details to carry into the next chapter of their story.

One day, many worlds, one very good party

Samarth and Johanna’s wedding was a reminder of what makes a celebration feel alive: the people, the stories they bring with them and the way everyone comes together for the couple.

Belgian, Swedish and Indian roots made for a wonderful combination — and a room full of guests who had travelled so far made the day feel even more meaningful. At Kasteel van Ruisbroek, Samarth and Johanna celebrated not just where they had come from, but the life they had built together.

A wedding in Brussels, with people from all over the world in one place, and a party that felt unmistakably theirs.
