Lauren got ready in the calm of the house, with the people closest to her nearby. The atmosphere was relaxed, joyful and full of anticipation—the kind of morning where one moment everyone is quietly concentrating, and the next the whole room erupts in laughter.
Her bridal look was romantic and effortless. Soft layers and delicate details gave her dress beautiful movement, while her pale blue shoes added a subtle hint of colour. Against the darker interiors of the house, everything came together in a way that felt timeless but never too traditional.
Meanwhile, Robert and his best men brought a distinct Scottish touch to the day. The kilts were more than a beautiful visual detail: they connected the celebration to family, heritage and the people who had gathered to witness their story.
A colourful outdoor wedding ceremony in Ronse
Lauren and Robert chose to see each other for the first time at their outdoor ceremony. As Lauren walked through the garden, Robert’s reaction said everything. It was one of those moments where the rest of the setting seems to disappear for a second—just the two of them, finally standing together.
The ceremony took place on the lawn, framed by the trees and gardens of Domein St Hubert. Bright, abundant flowers brought bursts of pink, orange, yellow, purple and blue to the scene. They felt playful and modern against the natural green surroundings, perfectly matching the warmth of the day.
The ceremony was personal, emotional and full of little exchanges between Lauren and Robert: hands held tightly, quick glances, tears, laughter and the visible relief of finally being side by side. Rather than taking Lauren and Robert away from their guests for a long, staged portrait session, we created their couple photographs naturally throughout the reception. A walk around the estate gave them a little space to breathe while still allowing them to remain present for the celebration they had travelled so far to share with everyone.
Heartfelt speeches, a lively dinner and a full dance floor
Inside, the colourful flowers continued across the dinner tables and brought the summer garden into the room. The speeches were a mixture of sincere, funny and beautifully unfiltered—the perfect combination. There were tears, huge laughs and a few reactions that tell the story better than any carefully posed photograph ever could.
As dinner gave way to the evening party, the energy changed quickly. Jackets came off, arms went up and the dance floor filled. The Scottish touches returned in full force, and the celebration became louder, looser and even more joyful. It was exactly the kind of party where the photographs are led by the people rather than by a shot list.

Just before the light disappeared, Lauren and Robert stepped outside with me for one final quiet pause. After a day surrounded by family and friends, the water and soft evening sky gave them a few minutes alone together.
Their sunset portraits feel like the perfect closing chapter to the story: romantic but relaxed, intimate without being overly posed. A still lake, a little boat in the distance, the last warm light and the two of them finally able to take in everything that had happened.
